Motorolas omnidirectional Motorola LS9208 presentation scanner has been further improved and is now available as the LS9208i. The LS9208i reads all presented bar codes extremely quickly and from any direction, making it very useful especially at peak times. Fast scanning of all commercial 1D and HD bar codes is made possible with a high-performance processor and an innovative omni-directional 100 line scan raster. A comparison to other scanners instantly demonstrates the difference - a simple test makes clear that other mini scanners cannot compete with the LS9208s performance of 1,500 scans per second. Faster bar code scans from any direction also mean higher productivity in checkout and eventually more satisfied customers. Optionally, the scanner can be used in single line mode, in which the scan raster is deactivated. This mode can be used for menu scans where users choose bar codes from lists or tightly arranged groups of bar codes.

The Motorola 123Scan setup application makes programming and configuration for system integrators very easy - the time needed for configuration is reduced to a minimum. All functions can be configured from a PC or notebook. The enhanced Remote Scanner Management enables users to administer several devices centrally and reduce operating expenses to a minimum. It also provides access to the entire range of Advanced Data Formatting functions ADF. The programmable decoder modifies read data according to its configuration e.g. deleting or adding characters, reformatting or resequencing of strings. Easy integration into existing systems is made possible through the scanners multi-interface, which serves all common interfaces used in POS environments. The scanner can be mounted with or without scanner stand and is available in light grey or anthracite.
